Want to get some feedback on possible ornamentation to spice up the piece a bit, as well as some tips for chamber switching between the G on the second chamber to the D on the third chamber. I thought I kept the rhythm to an acceptable level, obviously had some mistakes but consistency can be gained via practice I suppose.

looking at the Musescore violin version, there are only a few notes you can't do on a G 10-hole with occasional octave-jumped phrases.  And it's fairly obvious how to shift those few notes.  But this is not my kind of music so I don't know what distortions would be noticeable by an aficionado.

I don't personally hear anything in this that sounds like it needs ornamentation, howeaver I'm not familier with this style of music. It olready sounds quite ornamental just from thr complex melody line.

The main thing i can suggest with chamber switching is slow repatitous practice.

(04-09-2026, 03:37 PM)Jack Campin Am I typing in the right unlabelled field?

If so - looking at the Musescore violin version, there are only a few notes you can't do on a G 10-hole with occasional octave-jumped phrases.  And it's fairly obvious how to shift those few notes.  But this is not my kind of music so I don't know what distortions would be noticeable by an aficionado.

How do I get rid of the quoted text and video?  I would NEVER want to include that but can't edit it out.

You can use the bbcode editing mode activated with this icon:

Then select the quote code and delete it.

My issue is specifically the chamber switch from second to third (this is the first piece where I have used the third chamber). My main issue is that when I was using two chambers I could prep my right hand, but can't do the same for switching between 2nd and 3rd.

I guess you just need to move your fingers very quickly, unless it is possible to cover the holes of both chambers at the same time with a straightened finger.
